Crowns & Bridges

Crowns and bridges are fixed prosthetic devices that are used to repair and strengthen damaged teeth or to replace a missing tooth or teeth. They can be cemented onto existing, adjacent teeth or dental implants. Buckhead Atlanta Dentistry provides comprehensive dental care including crowns and bridges to patients in Buckhead and the metro Atlanta area.

A crown is used to entirely cover or "cap" a tooth that is damaged. Placing a crown over a damaged tooth will strengthen the tooth and will also improve its appearance, shape or alignment.

A crown may used to:

  • • Replace a large filling where there isn't enough tooth remaining
  • • Protect a weak tooth from fracturing
  • • Restore a fractured tooth
  • • Cover a dental implant
  • • Cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth or to cover a tooth that has had a root canal

Crowns are available in a variety of materials and may be made of porcelain or ceramic to match the color of natural teeth.

Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth. They span the space where teeth are missing and are cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding the empty space. Bridges are also available in a variety of materials and can be made of porcelain or ceramic to match the color of natural teeth.
